Network Automation using YANG Models across XE, XR, & NX

Checking All BGP Peers

To wrap up the openconfig-bgp section, we perform one final check of our topology's BGP neighbors. In each of the neighbor verifications below, use the respective device aliases.

Check XE BGP Neighbors

Use your xe alias to verify the 1 neighbor connection to the IOS-XR device as follows:

    Pod03-CSRv#show bgp summary
% Command accepted but obsolete, unreleased or unsupported; see documentation.
BGP router identifier 1.1.1.1, local AS number 65001
BGP table version is 1, main routing table version 1

Neighbor V AS MsgRcvd MsgSent TblVer InQ OutQ Up/Down State/PfxRcd
    10.1.1.2 4 65002 263 287 1 0 0 02:10:02 0
    Pod03-CSRv#

Check XR BGP Neighbors

Use the xr alias to verify the 2 neighbor connections to the NX-OS and IOS-XE device as follows:

    RP/0/RP0/CPU0:Pod03-XRv#show bgp summary
    Sun Jun 10 06:58:56.917 UTC
BGP router identifier 2.2.2.2, local AS number 65002
BGP generic scan interval 60 secs
    Non-stop routing is enabled
    BGP table state: Active
Table ID: 0xe0000000 RD version: 2
BGP main routing table version 2
BGP NSR Initial initsync version 2 (Reached)
    BGP NSR/ISSU Sync-Group versions 0/0
    BGP scan interval 60 secs

BGP is operating in STANDALONE mode.

Process RcvTblVer bRIB/RIB LabelVer ImportVer SendTblVer StandbyVer
    Speaker 2 2 2 2 2 0

Some configured eBGP neighbors (under default or non-default vrfs)
do not have both inbound and outbound policies configured for IPv4 Unicast
address family. These neighbors will default to sending and/or
receiving no routes and are marked with '!' in the output below.
Use the 'show bgp neighbor ' command for details.

Neighbor Spk AS MsgRcvd MsgSent TblVer InQ OutQ Up/Down St/PfxRcd
    10.1.1.1 0 65001 286 262 2 0 0 02:09:28 0!

Check NX BGP Neighbors

Use the nx alias to verify the 1 neighbor connection to the IOS-XR device as follows:

    Pod03-N9Kv# show ip bgp summary
BGP summary information for VRF default, address family IPv4 Unicast
BGP router identifier 3.3.3.3, local AS number 65003
BGP table version is 3, IPv4 Unicast config peers 1, capable peers 1
0 network entries and 0 paths using 0 bytes of memory
BGP attribute entries [0/0], BGP AS path entries [0/0]
BGP community entries [0/0], BGP clusterlist entries [0/0]

Neighbor V AS MsgRcvd MsgSent TblVer InQ OutQ Up/Down State/PfxRcd
    10.2.2.2 4 65002 17 18 3 0 0 00:14:55 0
